Bennett, Jr 385 5'Street Atlantic Beach,Florida 32233 RE: Notice of Violation-International Property Maintenance Code Protective Treatment, Stairways,Decks,Porches and Balconies 1365 Violet Street, Lot Pt 2, Pt 3 Block 233, Section H Atlantic Beach RE#171061-0120, Case#2711 Dear Mr. Bennett: Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property referenced above to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach, Code of Ordinances, Chapter 6, International Property Maintenance Code adopted to wit: VIOLATIONS INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE-Protective Treatment and Stairways,Decks,Porches,Balconies Section 304.2 Protective Treatment. All exterior surfaces, including but not limited to,doors, door and window frames,cornices,porches,trim,balconies, decks and fences shall be maintained in good condition. Exterior wood surfaces,other than decay resistant woods,shall be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment. Peeling,flaking and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces repainted. All siding and masonry joints as well as those between the building envelope and the perimeter of windows, doors,and skylights shall be maintained weather resistant and water tight. All metal surfaces subject to rust or corrosion shall be stabilized and coated to inhibit future rust and corrosion. Oxidation stains shall be removed from exterior surfaces. Surfaces designed for stabilization by oxidation are exempt from this requirement. Every exterior stairway,deck,porch and balcony,and all appurtenances attached thereto, shall be maintained structurally sound, in good repair,with proper anchorage and capable of supporting the imposed loads. (Rotted wood on front porch, stairs and railings) This letter requests that the noted violations be corrected by replacing all rotting wood on front porch, stairs and railings and call for an inspection to verify compliance within ten (10) days of this notice. A re-inspection will be done on or before February 22,2011. To avoid having this case be referred to the Code Enforcement Board, all listed violations on this notice must be in compliance on or before the date established by Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement. The Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty($250.00)per day for continuing violations. Upon completing the corrective action(s)required,it is your responsibility to contact Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance.
