CE 989 MAIN 2011 CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH 800 SEMINOLE ROAD ATLANTIC BEACH,FL 32233 PHONE(904)247-5800 August 29,2011 Sharon A.Kusy 989 Main Street Atlantic Beach, Florida 32233-2559 RE: Notice of Violation—Protective Treatment and Exterior Walls 989 Main Street,Atlantic Beach, Florida RE#170998-0010 CASE NO.59211 Dear Ms. Kusy: Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced above to he in violation of the International Property Maintenance Code as adopted by the City of Atlantic Beach, Code of Ordinances to wit: VIOLATIONS INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE Section 304.2 Protective Treatment. All exterior surfaces, including but not limited to doors, door and window frames,cornices,porches,trim balconies,decks and fences shall be maintained in good condition. Exterior wood surfaces other than decay resistant woods shall be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering and treatment. Peeling, flaking and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces repainted. All siding and masonry joints as well as those between the building envelope and the perimeter of windows, doors, and skylights shall be maintained weather resistant and water tight. All metal surfaces subject to rust or corrosion shall be coated to inhibit such rust and corrosion and all surfaces with rust or corrosion shall be stabilized and coated to inhibit future rust and corrosion. Oxidation stains shall be removed from exterior surfaces. Surfaces designed for stabilization by oxidation are exempt from this requirement. All exterior walls shall be free from,holes,breaks and loose or rotting materials and maintained weatherproof and properly surface coated where required to prevent deterioration. (rotted siding over the front door) / Page 2 989 Main Street August 29, 2011 This letter requests you comply by removal of the oxidation from side of house and replacing the rotted siding within thirty (30)days of receipt of this notice. A re-inspection will be done on or after September 30,2011. If the violation is corrected and then recurs or if the violation is not corrected by the time specified in this notice this case may be presented to the Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement Board even if the violation has been corrected prior to the board meeting. The Code Enforcement Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty($250.00)dollars per day for each day the violation is not corrected. Upon completing the corrective action required,it is your responsibility to contact Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance.
