Tony Gambini’s got a demanding ex-wife and an independent small NYC bookstore struggling to compete with the mega-stores and online booksellers. His only hope is a lot of nerve, a little blackmail and a lot of scotch in this richly tuneful and hilarious musical. showtimes: thursday, friday & saturday 8 pm / sunday 2 pm Doors open: 30 minutes before show admission: all tickets are $20 In 1974, President Gerald Ford said “know that a government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.” His words take on a new meaning in these difficult economic times where revenues for cities across the country are shrinking, employees are being laid off and services are being cut. If you want to live in a great community, you need to get out and make it happen. In Atlantic Beach, there are lots of opportunities. The City has many Boards and Committees that provide essential functions for the community and local newspapers are full of opportunities to become involved in the community on a weekly basis. Use your talents, be a part of the solution! — Mayor Borno Celebrate Water Conservation Month and Earth Day Household Garbage Collection The City of Atlantic Beach provides once weekly solid waste removal, including trash, garbage, yard waste, appliances and tires, to over 5,000 customers within the corporate limits of the City. As part of the City’s efforts to maintain and improve the appearance of our rights-of-way, residents are reminded that City Code prohibits placing garbage or yard waste in front of empty lots, City parks, rights-of-way adjoining parks or in road medians. In addition, garbage and yard waste containers should be placed off the street to not impede traffic or cause drainage issues. Containers should be set out no earlier than 6 pm the day prior to collection and are to be returned to their regular place of storage no later than 12 midnight on the day of collection. Containerized yard waste ,such as leaves or grass clippings, set out in a yard waste receptacle (barrel, box or bag) may be placed out up to two days before scheduled collection. Bulk (uncontainerized) yard waste such as tree limbs or palm fronds may be set out when generated.
