Present: Grant Healy, Nick Malie, Dawn Pope, Pamela White,Jay Wilson, Timmy Johnson (City liaison), Della

1. Call to order-Chair,Grant Healy called the meeting to order- 6:02 pm
2. Minutes from September 27,2016 approved.
3. Visitors recognized at the meeting:
Chris Lester-gave a handout on Well-Being Wednesday,reviewed the purpose of Well-Being
Wednesday,gave contact information, would like ideas from board members
Chris Jorgensen-commented on the proposed enhancements discussed at the Town Hall Meeting for
Tideviews Park
4. Ongoing Business
1. Songwriters/Acoustic Night-no one attended from the Committee
2. Artisans'Faire-Pam
a. Flyer distributed and emailed,sent to newspapers for publication,
encouraged committee to share on Social Media,a banner ad will run in
The Beaches Leader,23 artists,artists need to be set up by 4:30 p.m.,and
she will contact SeaPlace for parking availability for artists (get contact
information from Recreation Staff)
b. Sign-up sheet passed out for working event pouring wine,set up and
clean up to assist artists
3. Bocce Ball-Jay Wilson
a. Suggested April 29th date at 8 am for event to take place
b. Suggest sign ups available at Arts in the Park
c. Referenced Steven Parker Tournament in Jacksonville Beach (14 teams
played)
d. Sponsorship-Jax Surf&Paddle wants to be main sponsor
e. Things to be done for the Tournament T-shirts,Ball sets,sponsors to
help offset cost,etc.
f Decision by committee that event is too close to AITP,suggested another
date-Jay to suggest new to date at the next meeting.
4. Arts in the Park-Recreation Staff
a. Applications have been sent
b. Application acceptance through February 1.
c. Will need Bocce Ball flyers for AITP once date and sponsors are set
5. Neptune Beach Resource Request
a. First year of request
b. Committee requested that a representative from the organization attend
a meeting to discuss how funds are spent and an explanation of their
budget
c. Decision deferred until a representative attends

d. Committee asked to send Timmy questions that they would like to have
answered
e. Non-Profit
f. Approximately 200 Atlantic Beach residents are registered (15% of the
program)
g. $5 classes offered
6. New Business
1. Dawn shared that she is helping the Boys&Girls Club at a tournament at ABCC;she
suggested a hole sponsorship; explained the program being an after school
monitoring/mentoring program.
• It was suggested that a donation be considered vs sponsorship
• Will be put on next meeting's agenda to be voted on
2. Timmy reviewed the 90th year Anniversary event details
3. Check Notify Me calendar for events to volunteer or attend
a. Other than Artisan's Faire,upcoming events include Tree Lighting,
Acoustic Night in Johansen Park,Luminaria,and 90th year Reception
4. Timmy reminded the Committee that the November&December meetings are
combined—no November meeting.
7. Next Meeting-December 8,2016 @ 6 pm
8. Adjournment—with no further business,Nick motioned for adjournment,Jay seconded the motion to
adjourn the meeting. The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
