Item 6B- Resolution 17-05STAFF REPORT City of Atlantic Beach Commission Meeting AGENDA ITEM: Resolution for Community Develo~me Block Grant {CDBG} Application SUBMITTED BY: DATE: March 17, 2017 BACKGROUND: The proposed CDBG Grant Project is for a concrete walking path {sidewalk} within Jordan Park to provide ADA access to park amenities. Total Cost Estimate: CDBG Grant Funding Requested: $100,000 $100,000 {100%} The purpose of this project is to construct approximately 810 linear feet {LF} of ADA compliant concrete walkway within Jordan Park to provide park patrons greater accessibility to park amenities. The CDBG Program requires a resolution {see attachment) to be submitted with the application for funding, and the application is required to be submitted by March 28, 2017. BUDGET: This resolution states that the City is committed to implement the project described above in a manner to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and local laws and regulations should the grant funding be awarded. Funds will be requested in the 2017-2018 budget to be approved later this year. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve Resolution No. 17-05. ATTACHMENT: Resolution No. 17-05 REVIEWED BY CITY MANAGER: ];; . .rW,~r=GJ Amended Agenda Item 6B March 27, 2017 RESOLUTION NO. 17-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR THE 2017-2018 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, The City of Atlantic Beach is interested in canying out the following described neighborhood improvement project: Project Title: Jordan Park Walking Path Total Estimated Cost: $ 100,000 Brief Description of Project: This Project involves construction of approximately 810 linear feet (LF) of concrete walking path (sidewalk) within Jordan Park, located on Francis Avenue. The new path will be ADA compliant and will provide improved access to the park amenities. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach on behalf of the people that the project described above be authorized, AND, be it further resolved that said City of Atlantic Beach make application to the City of Jacksonville's Neighborhood's Department, Housing and Community Development Division in the amount of the above project cost on behalf of said City of Atlantic Beach, AND, be it further resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach that the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign the 2017/2018 Community Development Block Grant application on behalf of the City of Atlantic Beach, AND, be it further resolved by City Commission ofthe City of Atlantic Beach that, if awarded funds, it shall implement the activities in a manner to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and local laws and regulations.
