To Whom It May Concern:
On the subject project, I understand there is a discrepancy on the structural plans regarding the
posts under the front porch beam. These two posts are intended to be purely decorative and non-
bearing (i.e. non-structural) as indicated on the sheet S-4 of the structural plans. The note on
sheet S-8 specifying a treated post with a post base and strapping to the beam above was
inadvertently shown on this sheet and may be omitted. No strapping to the beams or other
structural connections to the front porch posts are required.
