Dear Mr. and Mrs. Walton:
Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced above to
be in violation of Chapter 3, Section 304.13.1 Window Glazing—"All glazing materials shall be
maintained free from cracks and holes" International Property Maintenance Code and City of
Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances Chapter 24. Section 25-154(g)—Outdoor Display which
states "Within all residential zoning districts and also including any property containing a
residential use, household items, furniture and those items customarily intended for indoor use
shall not be displayed, maintained or permanently stored outdoors, or in any location on the lot
where such items are visible from adjacent properties. Discarded or unused household items
shall be stored or properly disposed of to avoid mold, rodent and insect infestations which may
result in health risks and which also create unsightly appearances that negatively affect
neighborhoods. Such violations shall be corrected immediately upon written order from the
City".
This letter requests you comply by repairing or replacing the broken window within twenty
days of receipt of this notice. In addition, all household items stored in the carport
(clothing, furniture, etc.) must be removed upon receipt of this notice.
A re-inspection will be done on or after December 22,2010. If the violation is corrected and
then recurs or if the violation is not corrected by the time specified in this notice this case may be
presented to the Atlantic Beach, Code Enforcement Board for disposition even if the violation
has been corrected prior to the board meeting. The Code Enforcement Board may impose fines
up to two hundred fifty($250.00) dollars per day for each day the violation is not corrected.
Upon completing the corrective action required, it is your responsibility to contact Atlantic
Beach Code Enforcement and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance.
