Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced above to
be in violation of International Property Maintenance Code as adopted by the City of Atlantic
Beach, Code of Ordinances Section 6-16 to wit:
VIOLATIONS
Section 304.7 Roofs and Drainage. The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight and not have
defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in
the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and downspouts shall be
maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof water shall not be discharged in a
manner that creates a public nuisance.(Roof covered with tarp, numerous leaks)
Section 304.6 Exterior Walls. All exterior walls shall be free from holes, breaks, and loose or
rotting material; and maintained weatherproof and properly surface coated where required to
prevent deterioration. (Holes in walls)
Section 304.15 Doors. All exterior doors. door assemblies and hardware shall be maintained in
good condition. Locks at all entrances to dwelling units and sleeping units shall tightly secure
the door. Locks on means of egress doors shall be in accordance with Section 702.3. (Rear door
is rotting)

This letter requests you comply by obtaining the services of a State of Florida licensed
roofing contractor who must obtain a roofing permit within ten (10) of this notice and
make repairs to the rotted roof, soffit and fascia, repair holes in the walls and repair and/or
replace the rear door within thirty (30) days of receipt of this notice.
A re-inspection will be done on or after March 4th,2011. If the violation is corrected and then
recurs or if the violation is not corrected by the time specified in this notice this case may be
presented to the Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement Board even if the violation has been corrected
prior to the board meeting. The Code Enforcement Board may impose fines up to two hundred
fifty ($250.00) dollars per day for each day the violation is not corrected. Upon completing the
corrective action required, it is your responsibility to contact Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement
and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance.
It is our goal to enforce the codes and ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach and protect the
health, safety and welfare of the City, and accordingly, your cooperation in this matter is greatly

Dear Mr.Broussard,
Please be advised,Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property at the above referenced address to be in
violation of Chapter 3,Section 304.7-Roofs and Drainage per International Property Maintenance Code which states

Section 105.1 -Permit Required which states"Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct,enlarge,alter,
repair,move,demolish,or change the occupancy of a building or structure,or to erect,install,enlarge,alter,repair,
remove,convert or replace any required impact-resistant coverings,the installation of which is regulated by this code,
or to cause any such work to be done,shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required
permit."
This letter requests the noted violation be corrected by properly obtaining a permit to repair your roof within ten days

We are hoping to have the house demolished in the next 3 to 4 weeks. The contractor has not given us a firm
date, as they said they have 3 other jobs in the queue. But promised they will do that in the next week or so.
They are almost ready to apply for the permit. My husband just signed and notarized the application earlier
today and we both signed and notarized the release forms you have. I am attaching a copy to this message just
for your review. (I am also attaching a proof of their insurance). The contractor will be submitting the actual
permit application later this week.
We have also contacted Sunshine to have all utilities lines marked. Below is the ticket confirmation from them.
