Call to order – Chair, Grant Healy called the meeting to order – 2:00 pm 2. Minutes from September 5, 2017 – approved as written, motioned made by Pam White, seconded by Dawn Pope. All in favor. 3. Recognition of Visitors – Carol Silcox 4. Contribution Presentations for Committee Review took place as follows: a. Kathy Wallis, Beaches Fine Arts, requesting $5,000 contribution. Dawn motioned to contribute $2,050 to Beaches Fine Arts; Marina seconded. The motion failed. Pam motioned to contribute $3,000; Grant seconded and the motion carried unanimously. b. Matt Parson and Karen Demuth, Neptune Beach Elementary, requesting $2,000 contribution. Pam motioned to contribute $2,000; Beverly seconded and the motion carried unanimously. c. Kirk Farber, Fitness and Character Education (F.A.C.E.), requesting $2,500 contribution. Dawn motioned to contribute $525, the motion died for lack of a second. Beverly motioned to contribute $1,025; Pam seconded and the motioned carried unanimously. d. Anne Marie Tucker, Tony’s Turkey Trot, requesting $2,150 contribution. Dawn motioned to contribute $1,290; Jay seconded and the motion carried unanimously. e. Kurtis Loftus, Deck the Chairs, requesting $5,000 contribution. Dawn motioned not to contribute funds to Deck the Chairs; Pam seconded the motion. The motion failed. Pam motioned to contribute $500; Grant seconded and the motion carried. Marina voted against. f. Raf Usher, OMI International, requesting $5,000 contribution. Dawn motioned not to contribute funds to OMI International; Pam seconded and the motion carried unanimously. g. Joann Wallace, Youth Empowerment Summit, requesting $5,000 contribution. Dawn motioned not to contribute funds to Youth Empowerment Summit; Pam seconded. The motion failed. Marina motioned to contribute $1,000; Grant seconded and the motion carried. Dawn and Pam voted against. h. Jennifer Kent, Mayport Middle School, requesting $5,000 contribution. Pam motioned to contribute $5,000; Grant seconded and the motion carried unanimously. i. Celia Frank and Erik DeCicco, Atlantic Beach Experimental Theater, requesting $4,000 contribution. Pam motioned to contribute $2,000 for scholarships; Dawn seconded and the motion carried unanimously. j. Aine Healy Richardson, The First Act, requesting $5,000 contribution. Marina motioned to contribute $2,000 (the adults for the program would need to live in Atlantic Beach); Beverly seconded and the motion carried. Dawn and Pam voted against. k. Kristin Price, Atlantic Beach Elementary School, requesting $5,000 contribution. Beverly motion to contribute $5,000; Jay seconded and the motion carried unanimously. 5. Next Meeting: Jazz Festival and Artisans’ Faire review. 6. Next Meeting‐October 24, 2017 @ 6:30 pm in Meeting room a. Jazz Festival b. Artisans’ Faire 7. Adjournment – with no further business, Jay motioned for adjournment, Dawn seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting.
