A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE FOUR
POLICE FLEET VEHICLES DURING THE 2017-2018 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the vehicles in its
fleet to ensure that they are safe and effective to be used for public safety activities during routine
service and in response to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that four police vehicles need to be
replaced during the 2017-18 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase vehicles from one or more State of
Florida purchasing contracts; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of Police vehicles is funded in the 2017-18 Fiscal Year under
Police Department Budget accounts 001-2002-521-64-01 totaling $ 126,000 and 001-2001-521-
64-01 totaling $ 30,000; and
WHEREAS, a Ford Police All Wheel Drive SUV is available on the Florida Sheriffs'
Term Contract for $ 27,083.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the Chief of Police or their designee
to engage in the necessary contracts to effect the purchase of three Ford Police All Wheel Drive
SUV's and one sedan;
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
