Background information: 1..You applied for a building permit to install a fence in your front yard on 3/20/2017. 2. Before the permit was issued,it was reported that the fence was already installed and in the wrong location. 3. We met, on 3/30/2017, and discussed the location of the fence in relation to the property line and the City Right of Way. 4. After our meeting, I verified the property line and City Right of Way with Public Works. The City Right of Way is 60 feet wide in front of your property. At this time, I am notifying you that the fence,referenced above, is on the City Right of Way and must be removed. I hope to avoid posting a STOP WORK ORDER in front of your property. Please consider this letter a STOP WORK ORDER and stop all work on this fence and on the City Right of Way. To correct this situation,please remove all fence material from the City Right of Way and obtain an approved building permit for the fence within ten (10) Days of receipt of this letter. The cost of the permit will be doubled, plus $110.00 for additional inspections.
