CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH
CITY COMMISSION MEETING
STAFF REPORT
AGENDA ITEM: Junior Enlisted Men Housing -Acceptance of Water and Sewer
Infrastructure for City Ownership and Maintenance
SUBMITTED BY: Donna Kaluzniak, Utility Director
DATE: June 1, 2005
BACKGROUND: Construction on the Junior Enlisted Men Housing's infrastructure has been
completed by the Navy's contractor. This subdivision is located in the City of Jacksonville just
south of the original off-base housing.
The contractor completed construction in accordance with approved plans. City staff completed
a final inspection, and the Department of Environmental Protection has cleared the water and
sewer systems for service.
Because the Navy and the contractor are involved in litigation due to an issue with liquidated
damages, the actual schedule of values cannot be provided. Therefore, staff prepared an
estimated schedule of values based on unit costs for recently completed projects.
BUDGET: No immediate impact to operating budget. The attached estimated schedule of
values will be added to the City's assets.
RECOMMENDATION: Accept the water and sewer infrastructure in the Junior Enlisted Men
Housing development for ownership and maintenance by the City of Atlantic Beach.
ATTACHMENTS: 1. Estimated Schedule of Values that will be added to City's assets.
REVIEWED BY CITY MAN.
