Report of Committees
Commissioner Cook reported that in his opinion it would be a waste
of time to pave Sturdivant or Main Streets at this time due to the
fact that all utilities are not in place on these streets. He also
stated that this would set a precedent for other property owners to
make similar requests. He suggested that a policy be established
of property owners sharing the expense of improvements in front of
their property. It was moved and seconded by Commissioners Mhoon
and Minton that the Commission accept the report. It was carried
unanimously.
Mr. Parks gave his committee report for the new water well and stated
that it was the committee' s recommendation to award the low bidder,
Southern Drillers, Inc. , Jacksonville, Fla. who bid $27,800.00 with
two provisos: I . After the City receives title to the land
2. Receives a permit from the State
Motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Mhoon

unanimously.
