for the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida on first reading by title
only. Said ordinance was presented in full and in writing. Com-
missioner Fogg moved that Ordinance Noo 20-74-29 be approved on
first reading by title only, seconded by Commissioner Minton and

Mayor Howell stated that he received word from Washington, D. C.
notifying the city that our application for Federal Revenue Sharing
has been approved. It is now in the division that determines how
much money the City is due for the past two years, He stated he
would advise the City Commission when news is forthcoming.
In reference to State Revenue Sharing, Mayor Howell presented the
City Commission a schedule reflecting the amount of the State of
Florida Revenue Sharing Funds received, distributed to, and undis-
tributed by the City of Jacksonville. The auditors, Tyson and
Evans, figures that Jacksonville owes the City $427 , 881. 30 for the
past two years . Mr. Shorstein, attorney for the City of Jacksonville,
seems to feel that since the opinion of the Supreme Court and the
First District Court of Appeals did not state specifically that the
City of Atlantic Beach is entitled to Revenue Sharing retroactively,
he is taking the position that perhaps the City is not entitled to
the money retroactively.
