MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH HELD AT THE
CITY HALL ON AUGUST 18, 1980 AT 8:00 P.M.
PRESENT: William S. Howell, Mayor-Commissioner

AND: Bill M. Davis, City Manager

Adelaide R. Tucker, City Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Howell. He announced that the
Commission was meeting in Special Session for the purpose of opening of
bids for Repaving of certain streets within the City of Atlantic Beach.
The following bids were received and opened:

After a short discussion, the Mayor suggested the bids be turned over to the
City Engineer for his perusal, and to report back at the next meeting on
August 25, 1980. The following motion was made by Commission Mhoon:
Motion: The bids be referred to the City Engineer, Mr. Walter J. Parks, Jr.
for a report back at the next meeting to be held on August 25, 1980.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Jensen and carried unanimously.
Mr. Davis advised that he had met with Mr. Parks and Mr. Edwards on this date
regarding the acceptance of Selva Marina Unit 12C's water and Sewer Distribution
Systems. Mr. Parks stated that satisfactory bacteriological samplesshad not yet
been received, and that he and Mr. Edwards did not wish to recommend approval of
the systems at this time. Mr. Davis requested that the matter be passed over until
the next meeting. Commission agreed.
