June 15,2010
Call to order
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem John Fletcher at 5:00 pm. Those in attendance
were Mayor Pro Tern John Fletcher(Chairman), City Manager Jim Hanson, Member Glen Fisher,
Member Jim Smith, City Clerk Donna Bartle,Recreation Director Timmy Johnson, and Cultural
Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee Chair Lori Gaglione.
1. Approval of the minutes of the BMRC meeting of September 16,2009.
Motion: Approve minutes of the Board Member Review Committee meeting of September
16,2009.
Mayor Pro Tem Fletcher explained it would not be appropriate for him to vote on approval of the
minutes since he was not a member for that meeting.
Moved by Fisher, seconded by Smith

2. Review current members on the Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee
whose terms expire on 7/8/2010 and are interested in reappointment(4 upcoming
vacancies and 1 current vacancy)

Mayor Pro Tern Fletcher advised there are five vacancies to address on the Cultural Arts and
Recreation Advisory Committee (CARAC). It was explained that Mr.Howard resigned from the
Committee and the terms of the other four members,McCawley, Garrard,Roskein and Johnson
will expire on July 8,2010. Ms. Bartle confirmed that the current members listed on the agenda
are interested and are to be considered for reappointment. She explained that member McCawley
is termed out which means that her vacancy along with Mr. Howard's vacancy will require
replacement by new applicants.
The Committee discussed the attendance record of the three members as well as their contributions
to the Board.
Motion: Recommend reappointing Cris Garrard,Lynne Roskein and Jolyn Johnson to
serve an additional term on the Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee beginning
July 9,2010.

. neighbors that feel like our side of Atlantic Beach does not matter as much as some other parts of the AB. I don't
necessarily think that is true and would like the opportunity to work with others on the Codes Board in representing
our part of Atlantic Beach.

million. I was president for three of the years leading a board of five other persons. I was also the treasurer and
board member of L'Arche Harbor House which is comprised of Christ centered homes for the mentally and
physically disabled adults. For the last 32 years,I have been and I am currently administering and enforcing the tax
laws of this country as an attorney/manager for the Office of Chief Counsel—IRS by providing the necessary legal
advice. I currently lead and review a group of seven attorneys. As a result of these experiences, I think I have a
strong background in law enforcement and finances.

See above for some qualifications. It has been at least 4 years since I was on a community board or committee and I
want to again serve my community in this way. I believe I have the background for law enforcement and finances

may consider running for a Commissioner's post.
