CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MINUTES
7:00 P.M., January 12, 2010

Chairman Carl Russell called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m., followed by the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag by all present.
Secretary Susan Gorman read the roll and determined that there was a quorum.
1. Approval of Minutes: Following a brief review, the Board voted unanimously to approve
the minutes of the Code Enforcement Board meeting of November 10, 2009.
2. No visitors noted and Chairman Russell asked all Respondents and witnesses to step forward
to be sworn in.
3. OLD BUSINESS:
a. Case # 104309: Code Enforcement Officer Eddie Lopez reported his inspection of the
property at 94 Stanley Road and advised the Board that Mr. Thomas Streit is in full
compliance. The Board agreed unanimously to close the case.

4. NEW BUSINESS:
a. Cases # 118309, 118409: Respondent Brenda Howard is the owner of the property at
1044 Hibiscus but was not present. Eddie Lopez presented his case and asked the Board
to note the weed and vehicle violations. Board Members addressed their questions to the
Code Enforcement Officer and Mr. Lopez stated his recommendations. Chairman Russell
asked the Board for a motion. Ray Martin motioned to find the Respondent in violation
and allow Brenda Howard until February 1, 2010 to come in full compliance or the Board
may impose a fine of $250.00 per day. Richard Ouellette seconded. Chairman Russell
asked the Board for a roll call vote. The motion passed unanimously.
b. Cases # 119309,119409,119509 & 119609; Respondent Randy Dedman is the owner of
the property at 765 Sabalo Drive, but was not present. Eddie Lopez presented his case
and asked the Board to note the garbage, weeds, building security, and general exterior
violations. Board Members asked questions and discussion ensued. Veda Bernstein
motioned to allow the Respondent until February 1, 2010 to come in full compliance or
the Board may impose a fine of $250.00 per day. Richard Ouellette seconded and the
motion carried unanimously.
Case # 177-09: The Board was advised that Walter Barnes, owner of the property at 421
Sargo Road is in full compliance. Board Members agreed to close the case.
d. Case # 81309: Toni and Keith Green, owners of the property at 660 Sailfish Drive were
not present. Eddie Lopez presented his case and asked the Board to note the roof
violation. The Code Enforcement Officer took questions from the Board. Chairman
Russell asked the Board for a motion. Juliette Hagist motioned to allow the Respondents
until February 12, 2010 to come in full compliance or the Board may impose a fine of
$250 per day. Ray Martin seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
MISCELLANIOUS BUSINESS:
The Board inquired after Benjamin Brown and Rena Konig and the Code Enforcement
Officer agreed to get updates from the Finance Department.
Building Official Michael Griffin asked the Code Enforcement Board to consider holding
the meetings at 6:00 pm and advised the Board of the need to meet more often due to the
increased volume of cases. The Code Enforcement Board agreed to meet more
frequently, but agreed to schedule meetings for 7:00 pm. Board Members agreed to
schedule a regular meeting for February 9, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Commission Chamber.

6. Adjournment:
There being no further discussion, the meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
