Exh 7DAGENDA ITIJNI #7D SEPTEMBER 26, 200 CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION MEETING STAFF REPORT AGENDA ITEM: ORDINANCE N0.20-OS-73 AMENDING THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA FOR FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2004 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2005. SUBMITTED BY: Nelson Van Liere Finance Director DATE: September 19, 2005 BACKGROUND: During the year, the City makes adjustments to budgetary accounts to fund items not anticipated during the initial budget process. In the Sanitation operation of Public Works, the contracted hauler is now using revised customer counts for the number of locations being serviced and has also added a fuel surcharge to the monthly invoice. A combination of both of these increases requires additional funding in the amount of $45,000. Without the additional funding, the Sanitation budget would end the year with a deficit. This budget amendment will fund the projected deficit from available fund balance in the Sanitation Fund. BUDGET: Additional $45,000 for the Sanitation Fund to cover additional contract hauler expenses. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Ordinance No. 20-OS-73.
