Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any required impact resistant coverings, electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system,the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the Building Official and obtain the required permit. (Aluminum patio roof installed without a permit as required encroaching into the side yard setback) Chapter 24. Land Development Regulations. Sec. 24-108. - Residential, multi-family district (RG-M) (e) Minimum yard requirements. The minimum yard requirements in the RG-M zoning are: (3) Side yard: (a) Single-family dwellings: Combined fifteen (15)total feet and five (5) minimum feet on either side. The Code Enforcement Board may levy fines up to $250.00 per day for the first violation and $500.00 per day for a repeat violation. If the violation is corrected and then recurs or if the violation is not corrected by the time specified for correction by the Code Enforcement Officer, the case could be presented to the Code Enforcement Board even if the violation has been corrected prior to the Board hearing. Upon completing the corrective action required, it is your responsibility to contact Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance at(904)247-5855. You have the right to obtain an attorney at your own expense and to present witnesses in your behalf.
