Design Modification 1 —Roof Tile Attachment
To Whom It May Concern:
1. The roof tile attachment at the hip and ridge is (4) 8d RS nails per metal strap (26 gauge
min) @ 18" o/c.
2. 25.9 ft-lb moment is required for field tile attachment. (2) 8d RS nails provide 37.6 ft-lb
moment available which exceeds the required moment.
3. The nails are used in lieu of#8 screws.
The engineering changes to the subject project are structurally satisfactory. If you require any
additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
