(UES) has completed the Auger-Cast Pile (ACP) installation observation for support of the pool structure at the above listed project location. The purpose of the observation was to provide individual records for the installed piles. The following paragraphs provide the final summary of the results of our monitoring. Observation of the auger-cast pile installation was conducted by a Project Manager who recorded pile identification numbers, time of pile installation, pile tip and top elevations, the auger diameter, and actual and theoretical pile volumes (based on pump calibration). A pump calibration was performed on site in a 55-gallon drum, resulting in a 1.08 cubic feet per stroke volume ratio. A total of ten (10) auger-cast piles were installed on June 27, 2017 by Brevard Grouting. The auger-cast piles for the pool structure were installed with a 14-inch diameter auger and have pile lengths of 29.00 feet. Locations of the piles were provided to UES on site. The associated pile numbers were assigned by UES. Figure 1 below shows the foundation plan and associated pile numbers, note that the piles were located in the field by the contractor. Steel reinforcement cages were inserted into the freshly placed piles consisting of four(4) #5 vertical reinforcement bars by 27 feet in the Pool structure. One set of six (6) 4-inch diameter by 8-inch tall grout cylinders were made for compressive strength testing. The cylinders were transported to our laboratory for moisture curing and testing. The auger-cast piles for the pool structures were installed in general accordance with standard industry installation practices.This letter does not provide an evaluation of the auger-cast pile capacities.
