Executive Director & General Counsel John was born and raised in Atlantic Beach and graduated from the University of Florida Magna Cum Laude and then received his JD from University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. John will discuss how professionals and the community may be able to utilize a recently completed satellite survey of Duval County’s tree canopy. This recently completed survey delivers an easy-to-use interactive online visualization and prioritization tool that will allow planning professionals to view, plan, and grow our City’s tree canopy. The survey’s visualization tools will help planning professionals to assist in the identification of “hot spots” where tree plantings can be focused based on environmental, health, and socio-economic priorities. Together, using these emerging technologies, our community can effectively plant at least $20 million worth of trees from the City’s Tree Mitigation Trust Funds throughout Jacksonville in upcoming years.
