This purchase increased accessibility to Tideviews Preserve for the citizens of Atlantic Beach. John November (Executive Director of the Public Trust Environmental Legal Institute of Florida) is now proposing that a pergola (pictured above) be constructed on this site to honor the Bennett Family, previous Commissions and staff, as well as others who participated in the acquisition of this property. The proposed pergola will be constructed and furnished using donations from AB citizens; the site will not impact views of the marsh from the Marsh Oaks neighborhood. From the pergola, visitors will have a spectacular sunset view of the marsh. This unique pergola has the potential to spur further evolution of Tideviews Preserve if so desired by Atlantic Beach citizens.
