Thank you very much for taking a look last week at our hickory tree that has become a danger to the structure of our house.
To recap, our situation is that we have a pignut hickory tree on our screened in porch, We are experiencing some major
damage to our house from it, much to our upset because we like the tree. In the last two hurricanes, the tree swayed,
knocked off part of the porch ceiling and broke windows. Also, the tree swaying is damaging our roof. We were told about
a year ago that the tree has disease but it is certainly not dead. We nonetheless have to have it removed and are getting
estimates for doing so. We will need a crane to come in.
As you and Bruce Andrews informed me, the code allows for the removal of a tree, even a legacy tree, without a permit if it
presents a danger. That is the case here.
I plan to drop off at your office a copy of this email as well as a letter from Odom's Beaches Tree Service discussing the
danger that this tree is causing to our house and a copy of one receipt.from Advanced Glass for a replacement of a window
in our sun room. The glass replacement was done rignt after Hurricane Irma. Another sun room window was broken from
the tree swaying after Hurricane Matthew. I am not able to locate that receipt.
We would like to have the tree removed soon and would appreciate a quick response with the go ahead to do so without a
permit.

To whom it may Concern:
I have inspected the Hickory tree growing through the roof of Mrs. Lori Schwab's home at 541
Sherry Drive. Because of the trees location it has become a hazard to the structure of the home.
In previous storms the tree has broken out windows. In my opinion it should be removed to
prevent further damage to the homes structure.
