AGENDA ITEM: ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR STORM WATER JETTING &
CLEANING

BACKGROUND: The contract for Storm Water Jetting & Cleaning expires on
February 28, 2003. The contract work involves jetting the storm
water drainage lines and cleaning catch basins. Our National
Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater
Permit requires that we use best management practices (BMPs) to
keep our lines and basins as clean as possible.
We have contacted Mr. Joey Loper, President of Florida Pipe
Tech.,Inc., and he has agreed to extend the contract for another
year at the current prices. The City has the option of extending the
current contract for two 1-year periods, and this will be extension
number one.
RECOMMENDATION: Extend the contract for one year at the current cost.
ATTACHMENTS: Letter signed by Joey Loper, President of Florida Pipe Tech., Inc.
agreeing to the extension.
BUDGET: $31,000.00 budgeted in account 470-0000-538-34.00

As you are aware, the contract with the City of Atlantic Beach for Stormwater Line Jetting and
Cleaning expires on February 28, 2003. We would like to extend the contract for another year at
the current prices, if this is acceptable to your company. If acceptable, please sign below and
return to me before January 27, 2003, so I can prepare a staffreport for the City Commission to
accept the extension.
We look forward to recommending that we continue our contract with your company.
