AGENDA ITEM: Award Bid No. 0203-6, Atlantic Beach Tree Planting
Project to Commercial Landscaping in the amount of
$22,000.

BACKGROUND: In an attempt to beautify City right-of--ways and increase
the tree canopy of Atlantic Beach, the City Commission
approved the Tree Planting Plan. Several areas were
designated for planting and we have received agreements
for citizens for maintenance of the trees.
The following areas have been designated for planting:
• Seminole Road-Oaks, Recommended tree and
Hollies
• Plaza- Oaks, Recommended tree and Hollies
• Marsh Oaks West- Oaks, Recommended tree and
Hollies
• Ahern- Oaks, Recommended tree and Hollies
• Ocean Blvd.-Palms
• East Coast-Palms
The following bids were received:
• Land Design Incomplete
• Commercial Landscaping $22,000.00
• Clay Hill Evergreen $23,962.50
• Allscape of Florida $2S,4S0.00
• Davey Tree $24,250.00
• Vila & Son $31,328.00
• C & L Landscaping $40,000.00
The bid did include crepe myrtles, but they will be
substituted with a tree recommended by the City
Commission.

PART 3. FF,I2Tii.YZER AND WARRANTY
3.1 CONT'KACTUR must supply each tree with 9 month stow release fertilizer to ensure
proper growth of the tree.
3.2 CON'T'RACTOR must have tags removed anti dama3cd limbs trimmed back or removed
on ail trees. Each-tree must have a 1 year warranty.
PART 4. UNDI~:RGROUND UTILTTIES
4.1 CON'T'RACTOR is responsible for locating all undcr~round ulil~tics before planting; the
trees.
PART 5, SAFI~:TY
5.1 CONTRACTORZ will be responsible for safe conduct and use of equipment on job site.
S,Z CQN1'RACTOR will follow ail safety requirements recommended by the manufacturer on
each piece of equipment used, and for any chemicals used.
