A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE THIRD FRIDAY OF
JANUARY AS ARBOR DAY IN THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH FROM THIS DAY FORWARD.
WHEREAS, The Environmental Stewardship Committee recognizes the importance of
Atlantic Beach's tree canopy and is committed to its protection; and
WHEREAS, The Environmental Stewardship Committee created an Arbor Day
Subcommittee to oversee its 2018 Arbor Day Activities; and
WHEREAS, The Arbor Day Subcommittee determined that the official Arbor Day for the
Citv of Atlantic Beach should be consistent with the State of Florida each calendar vear: and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida recognizes the third Friday of January as its official Arbor
Day annually.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby establishes the third Friday of January as Arbor
Day in the City of Atlantic Beach from this day forward;
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
