Ms. Wendy Layton 876 Majestic Cypress Drive N ' Atlantic Beach, FL 32233 Dear Ms. Layton: I have received your request to support the Beaches Project Graduation event next May and am glad to inform you that I stand ready to host this very worthwhile event. My Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) staff have penciled in your event dates and times, and I request you work closely with my point of contact, Ms. Tara Culbertson, MWR Community Activities Director at 270- _ 5228. Although I fully support this program, please understand that there is always the remote possibility that force protection levels may be heightened and base access could be impacted in the event a threat prompts such security measures. Short of this type of scenario, I know we can become great partners in caring for our future leaders. We look forward to working closely with your organization, and I wish you the best with the planning of your event. - Sincerely, ~~ Gz~,~,~ MATTHEW E. SCHELLHORN Captain, U. S. Plans are underway for an exciting graduation night party for the 2003 Seniors at Fletcher High School. Project Graduation is a tradition at many high schools across the country, and it's a tradition we would like to start at Fletcher High School. Beaches Project Graduation is anall-night, chemical-free party that is organized by parents and the community, with a lot of help from the seniors. It is our hope that Beaches Project Graduation will reduce the chance of any of our children being injured or killed in an alcohoUdrug related accident. Statistics prove that this is one of the most dangerous nights on the road for graduates. With your help Beaches Project Graduation will be the biggest and best party ever, one the kids will want to attend and one they will remember for alife-time. It will have games, music, entertainment, food, mementos and thousands of dollars worth of prizes. Our steering committee has been meeting monthly establishing Beaches Project Graduation as a non-profit organization. We have already received a generous donation from a member of the community. This fantastic event needs you on one of our committees to help solicit and gather prizes, raise _ the funds, decorate, arrange for food, secure the site and all other things necessary to manage a great event. We're not asking for a lifetime commitment, A few hours of your time could reallX make a difference. Aren't our children important enough to pull together and make this work? This will be a labor of love, that you will not only enjoy being a part of, but remember long after you have forgotten how many relatives were able to attend graduation. The next meeting will be October 15~', 2002 at 7:30 P.M. at Fletcher High School in the Front Office.
