BACKGROUND:
The city had five bidders for Bid number 0203-13 for Milling and
Paving. The bids were opened on April 16, 2003 and they are as
follows:

We where hoping to be able to do Items. 4.1-4.23 and 5.1-5.17 with
the monies budgeted this year. After reviewing the bids we will be
able to do Items 4.1-4.23 and only eleven of items 5.1-5.17. We
took the, eleven lowest ranking roads determine by the Pavement
Management System for items 5.1-5.17.
RECOMMENDATION: Award Bid to Underground Utility Contractors, Inc. for items
4.1 -x.23 in the amount of $186,482.83 for milling and paving and
only eleven items (5.1,5.2,5.3,5.4,5.5,5.6,5.7,5.8,5-..10,5.11 & 5.17)
of 5.1-S.I7 in the amount of $46,778.40 for one-inch.overlay,
For a total cost of $233,261.23.
