Dear Mr. and Mrs. Allen:
The City of Atlantic Beach is currently reviewing drainage issues that have arisen in the vicinity
of your residential structure located at 321 511 Street. As a part of this review, we identified the
enclosed drawings and a survey, dated February 26, 2005, as the most recent that are on file in
the City's Building Department. As you may be aware, in accordance with Section 24-66 of the
Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances, as-built surveys with topographic data are required to be
submitted to the City when any construction is completed. No post-construction survey was
found in the City's files for you property. We also identified correspondence from 2012
regarding several drainage issues on you property and have enclosed it for your review.
Together, this information indicates that certain drainage improvements were to be constructed
and maintained in operating condition. As part of the City's recent review, it appears that the
improvements may no longer be in existence and/or be functioning as anticipated and permitted.
As a result, we we requesting that you provide additional information to the City. First, please
review the enclosed survey and confirm, by signing in the space provided below, that it
accurately represents all impervious surfaces currently located on your property. If the enclosed
survey does not accurately represent all impervious surfaces currently located on your property, I
am requesting that you provide an updated survey, signed and scaled by a licensed surveyor,
showing all impervious surfaces to me no later than January 15, 2018. In addition, please
provide the post-cmistruction topographic data for your property required by Chapter 24 of die
City's Code and confirm that it accurately reflccts the cuirrent topography of your parcel. The
topo survey should show all drainage features, swales, and other on-site stormwater drainage
features. Finally,the City requests an opportunity to inspect the drainage features located on your
property within the next thirty(30)days. I will contact you to determine a convenient time.
Together, these items will assist the City in determining what measures may be appmpriate to
ease the flooding conditions in die vicinity of your home.
