Dear Mr. and Mrs. Flynn:
As you know, the City of Atlantic Beach is currently reviewing drainage issues that have arisen
in the vicinity of your residential structure located at 315 5th Street. As a part of this review, we
identified the enclosed Plot Plan prepared by Boyce and Boyce Architects and dated March,
1971 as the most recent that is on file in the City's Building Department. As you may be aware,
in accordance with Section 24-66 of the Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances, as-built surveys are
required to be submitted to the City when any new construction is completed. In addition, post-
construction topographic surveys are also required in accordance with Chapter 24 when
construction is completed. No post-construction topographic survey was found in the City's files
for your property.
Please review the enclosed survey and confirm, by signing in the space provided below, that it
accurately represents all improvements and impervious surface areas currently located on your
property. If the enclosed survey does not accurately represent all improvements currently located
on your property, I am requesting that you provide an updated survey, signed and sealed by a
licensed surveyor, showing such improvements no later than January 15, 2018. In addition,
please provide the post-construction topographic survey for your property required by Chapter
24 of the City's Code and confirm that it accurately reflects the current topography of your
parcel. The topo survey should show any drainage features, swales, and other on-site stonnwater
drainage features.
Together, these items will assist the City in determining what measures might be taken to ease
the flooding conditions in your area.
