Dear Mr. and Mrs.Nelson:
The City of Atlantic Beach is currently reviewing drainage issues that have arisen in the vicinity
of your residential structure located at 310 6°h Street. As a part of this review, we identified the
enclosed final as-built and topographic survey prepared by Boatwright Land Surveyors, Inc. and
dated June 7, 2013 as the most recent that is on file in the City's Building Department. As you
may be aware, in accordance with Section 24-66 of the Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances, as-
built surveys are required to be submitted to the City when any new construction is completed. In
addition, post-construction topographic surveys are also required in accordance with Chapter 24
when any construction is completed.
Please review the enclosed survey and confirm, by signing in the space provided below, that it
accurately represents all improvements, including all impervious surface areas and drainage
features, such as swales and yard drains, as well as the current topography currently located on
your property. If the enclosed survey does not accurately represent all such improvements
currently located on your property, I am requesting that you provide an updated survey, signed
and sealed by a licensed surveyor, showing such improvements no later than January 15, 2018.
There remains a question regarding whether the drainage features, as permitted by the City, are
functioning properly as they were designed. As a result, the City requests an opportunity to
inspect the drainage features located on your property within the next thirty (30) days. I will
contact you to determine a convenient time.
Together, these items will assist the City in determining what measures might be taken to ease
the flooding conditions in your area.
