AGENDA ITEM: Uniform Remal and Cleaning for City Employees

BACKGROUND: In accordance with the Northeast Florida Public Employees' Local
630 Agreement with the City, we are requued to furnish and clean
uniforms for City bazgaining unit employees required to weaz
uniforms.
The City's current contract is with Cintas Corporation. The
contract expires on July 31, 2003. We have contacted ARr. John
Duffy, Branch Manager of Cintas Corporation, and he lies agreed
to extend the contract for another year at the current prices. The
City has the option of extending the current wntract for two 1-year
periods, and this will be extension number two.
RECOMMENDATION: Extend the contract for one year at the current cost, which is
estimated at $9,500.
BUDGET: This is budgeted in the 4400 accounts of several departments:
Streets and Maintenance, Stormwater, Water Production, Sewer
Treatmerrt, Water Distribution, Sewer Collection, Pazks and
Recreation, and Finance.
ATTACHMENTS: Letter signed by John Duffy, Branch Manager, Cintas Corporation
agreeing to extend the contract for one year at the ctunrrt prices.

As you are awaze, the contract with the City of Atlantic Beach for uniform rentals expires on
July 31, 2003. We would like to extend the contract for another year at the current prices, if this
is acceptable to your company. If acceptable, please sign below and return to me before June 16,
2003, so I can prepaze a staff report for the City Commission to accept the extension.
We look forward to recommending that we continue our contract with your company.
