Exh 6AAGENDA ITEM 6A JUNF. 23, 2003 RESOLUTION NO: 03-OS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIIDA AMENDING THE TERMS OF OFFICE FOR MEMBERS OF THE CULTURAL ARTS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND PROVmING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on July 8, 2002 the City Commission adopted Resolution 02-13 creating a Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee which included a provision limiting; the maximum number of consecutive terms that any appointee may serve, and WHEREAS, the City Commission has expressed a desire for appointments to city boazds and committees to have uniform. terms and term limits so that all members will be appointed for two-year terms and that there will be a maximum of four consecutive terms. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission, City of Atlantic Beach as follows; Section 1. That Section 4 of Resolution 02-13 be repealed and that a r..ew section on membership be adopted as fellows; There shall be a total. of nine (9) members appointed by the Mayor and Commission. Members must be residents of Atlantic Beach. Following the expiration of the terms of olTice of current committee members the term of office shall be for two (2) yeazs and members may serve a maximum of four (41 consecutive terms. Any committee member may be removed for cause by the city commission upon written charges and after public heazing. Any member who fails to attend (3) consecutive meetings without cause shall have his office declazed vacant unless the member's absence is excused by a majority of the boazd members, and the city commission shall promptly till such vacancy. A member may choose to resign from the conunittee at any time by giving written notice to the City Clerk. One member of the committee shall either be a member of the Atlantic Beach Teen Council or an adult advisor to same. Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED by City Commission on this _ day of 2003. JOHN S.
