Seventh Street Beach Access

BACKGROUND: On October 28; 2002 the City Commission approved a
request from the 7`h Street Beach Access Committee to
landscape the north side of 7`s Street Beach Access. The
landscaping was completed a few months ago and does fall
in line with the Public Beach Access Beatification
Program At the last Commission meeting, there were two
citizens concerned that the City was turning the right of
way over to this private group. Staff spoke with the two
citizens and they are requesting that the City relocate some
plants and install a bench, shower and bike rack at the
public use. After looking into their request, the location is
too small for a shower and shower pad, but there is a
shower and bench at 6s' Street.
BUDGET: The cost to relocate plants; purchase and install a bench and
bike rack is $1,000. If approved by the City Commission,
these funds will come from account number 001-6020-572-
52-00.
RECOMMENDATION: If approved by the City Commission, Staff will relocate a
few plants and install a bench and bike rack.
