08-2-18 10th Street Subcommittee MinutesCITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH 10th Street Subcommittee of the Parking and Pedestrian Safety Advisory Resource Committee Minutes August 2, 2018 Call to Order by Chair Lagner at 5: 04 pm. Roll Call was taken. Members present included: Jennifer Lagner, Woody Winfree and Paula 0' Bannon Courtesy of the Floor was extended to anyone present. There being no visitors in attendance, Courtesy of the Floor was closed. Minutes to Approve There were no minutes to approve. This was the initial meeting of the 10th street subcommittee. There were no visitors in attendance. Discussion regarding the purpose of the committee determined it was to address the safety issues on 10th Street. The safety issues identified included Backing up of the parking access into oncoming traffic, Traffic density is a question, Cloister gate is problematic, High pedestrian in a finite area, • No sidewalks, Zipping through stop signs. Preliminary recommendations from unnamed beach goers who spoke with Ms. O' Bannon included Move bike racks for more access, Create some sort of turn around and additional striping and a back up space for drop offs. It was decided to request additional information from the City as part of due diligence. Has anyone done traffic density reviews How wide is the street Zoning -What does R -GM Width of sidewalks -who owns them Bikini apartments -lease and resolution What are the requirements for ADA parking Bike racks -how many can replace a parking space Is parallel parking on the driver' s test and can we recommend it? Based on the current real estate can a roundabout be created Can you make the resident only by flipping the spaces Measure the space of the bricks How does the city have control over the Cloisters Accurate survey what the city did as to who owns what Renourishment allocation Possible costs for striping and process for significant city work With no additional business, the meeting was adjourned at 5: 55PM.
