BACKGROUND: This bid was fora 22-cubic yard roll-off container, with modifications so
the container may. also be used for dewatering sludge. The bid was due on August 13 2003,: and
at that time no vendors submitted a bid. The container was re-bid,.and on September 3, 2003 one
bid was submitted from Galbreath, Inc., in the amount of $15,.154. Some of the -bid. documents
(W-9 form, Public Entities Crime form, Acknowledgement of Addenda and Documents checklist)
were submitted by -fax.. As Galbreath, Inc. was' a sole bidder, submission of these documents with
the bid was waived as a technicality.
Since there was only one bidder, as a comparison, we obtained a price for sludge containers from
Consolidated Containers. The cost of a 1? cubic yard roll-off container wars $17,500.
.BUDGET: A total of $15,000 was budgeted for the sludge container in the Sewer Treatment
.fund under account number 410-SS08-535-6400.: The remaining $154 is available-in account
number 410-5508-535-6300, as the influent screening has come in under budget:
RECOMMENDATION: Purchase the Roll-OnfRoli-Off Sludge Container as specified in Bid
No. 0203-22 (Re-Bid). from Galbreath, Inc. in the amount of $ i 5,154.00
