AGEND ITEM: Advise staff as to the appropriate pay increase for the City
Clerk

BACKGROUND: Both the City Manager and City Clerk, are "appointed"
with the City-Commission establishing the salary of the
incumbents each. October,
The "appointed"-City Clerk position had been considered
separate from other employees since 1994 and was not
officially includedwithin the October 2001 Classification
and Pay study. as implemented by the City.
However, the position was later classified by the consultant
and in past years (2001 and 2002), the pay of the City Clerk
has been adjusted ,based. upon this classification using the
same payprocedures as utilized for all other City
employees.
BUDGET: Sufficient funds arecurrently within the budget for this
action...,
RECOMMENDATION: Effective October 1, 2003, adjust the pay of the City Clerk
using the classification as provided by the October 2001
pay study-and using the same procedures. and pay .increase
as provided to all-other City General employees.
