Director of Public Works _ DATE: September 16, 2003 BACKGROUND: As we approach the completion of the Care- City Project,' we have compiled a list of nine- Discretionary, Work Items. that are beyond the contract scope: These items are described on the Item Summary Sheets, and broken.. into four categories: A. Completing Street Repairs B. Beach End Asphalt Improvements C. Adjoining Drainage Problems D. East Coa t Drive. Sidewalk Improvements. The total for Change .Order #12, as summarized'in the attached documents, is $72;372.00, with a total of days added to the contract, and a grand total of days added thru Change .Order #12. We will have expended 92% of the contingency with this: Change Order. This percentage tracks well with the money spent through., estimated monthly payments through the project completion; which. will be 1.00% of the total project .funds. (At the time of this report, we are awaiting the monthly invoice through August.) The Contractor is planning to complete the project by early Fall, and hopefully receive all of the incentive. BUDGET: The original contingency amount, as approved by the Commission is $627,623:09: The twelve .change orders will reduce-the contingency by $572,092.84 to .$55,.530:25.
