SPRINKLER NOTES:
1. SCOPE OF WORK: DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF AN AUTOMATIC FIRE
SPRINKLER SYSTEM FOR A GROUP HOME (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING).
6. PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORK, CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT SITE TO
FAMILIARIZE HIM/HERSELF WITH EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS AND VERIFY THAT
RESIDENCE HAS ADEQUATE WATER PRESSURE AND QUALITY OF WATER
SUPPLY FOR WET SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
14. FIRE SPRINKLER CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING ENGINEERING,
DESIGN, AND INSTALLATION OF THE RESIDENTIAL FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM
PER NFPA GUIDELINES. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PERMITTING, LABOR,
AND MATERIALS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE ALL WORK PERTAINING TO THE
FIRE PROTECTION SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
15. FIRE SPRINKLER CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH ALL OTHER TRADES
INCLUDING ELECTRICIANS, PLUMBERS, AND CARPENTERS. FIRE SPRINKLER
CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FIRE ALARM SYSTEM AND COORDINATION
WITH FIRE ALARM SUBCONTRACTOR.
19. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
2016 NFPA 13D AND AMENDMENTS AS ADOPTED BY THE LOCAL
JURISDICTION.
20. ONE SET OF OCFA APPROVED SPRINKLER PLANS WITH HYDRAULIC
CALCULATIONS SHALL BE RETAINED AT THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES.
21. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT EXISTING CONDITIONS AND SHALL PATCH
& REPAIR ANY AREA OF DAMAGE OR DISRUPTION TO EXISTING
CONSTRUCTION.
22. NEW SPRINKLER PIPES SHALL BE LOCATED WITHIN WALLS OR CEILING
WHEREVER POSSIBLE. IF PIPES MUST BE EXPOSED, THEY SHALL BE
ENCLOSED TO CONCEAL PIPING. ENCLOSURE SHALL BE PREPPED AND
PAINTED TO MATCH EXISTING ADJACENT SURFACES.
23. UNDERGROUND MAINS AND LEAD-IN CONNECTIONS SHALL BE FLUSHED
BEFORE CONNECTION IS MADE TO SPRINKLER PIPING.
24. SYSTEMS SHALL BE TESTED AT A MINIMUM OF STREET PRESSURE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 13D.
25. EXPOSED EXTERIOR RISER VALVES SHALL BE PAINTED OSHA SAFETY RED.
FIRE SPRINKLER OR SUPPLY PIPE EXPOSED OR SUSCEPTIBLE TO WET
CONDITIONS SHALL BE PAINTED (ANY COLOR) OR OTHERWISE COATED TO
INHIBIT CORROSION. STAINLESS STEEL ASSEMBLIES AND PIPING MAY BE LEFT
UNPAINTED PROVIDED THAT ANY HOSE CONNECTIONS, VALVES, OR OTHER
COMPONENTS OPERATED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARE PAINTED RED.
26. SPRINKLERS IN SPACES SUBJECT TO TEMPERATURES IN EXCESS OF 100°F
(INCLUDING GARAGES AND EXTERIOR CLOSETS) MUST BE INTERMEDIATE
TEMPERATURE RATED (1757 OR MORE).
27. OUTSIDE PIPING SHALL BE INSULATED AGAINST FREEZING.
28. ALL SPRINKLER PIPING SHALL REMAIN UNCOVERED UNTIL INSPECTED BY THE
AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.
29. AT FINAL INSPECTION, ALL CEILINGS SHALL HAVE ALL PATCHES, REPAIRS,
AND FINAL FINISHES COMPLETED.
