AGENDA ITEM: Public hearing. to take comments from residents of the City of Atlantic
Beach and the City of Jacksonville related to the re-naming of Church:

BACKGROUND: This .public hearing is being held to provide abutting property owners
along Church. Road, within both the City of Atlantic .Beach and the City of Jacksonville, an
opportunity to comment on the re-naming of Church Road to Dutton Island Road, West and
Dutton Island Road, East. (Those portions of Church Road that are east of Mayport Road will be
named Dutton Island Road, East, and those portions that aze west of Mayport Road will be
namedbutton Island Road, West.) .Property. owners abutting Church Road have been sent notice
of this public. hearing: The City of Jacksonville requires adopfion of an ordinance'to complete
.this process, and following this meeting; the COJ will initiate the required process to re-name the
Jacksonville portion of the roadway.
BUDGET: No budget issues involved in this request.
RECOMMENDATION: No actionrequired.
