A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE FOUR
POLICE FLEET VEHICLES DURING THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the vehicles in its
fleet to ensure that they are safe and effective to be used for public safety activities during routine
service and in response to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase vehicles from one or more State of
Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of contract from other vendors;
and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that three Police SUVs and one Police
4WD Truck should be purchased during the 2018-19 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, a Police All Wheel Drive SUV can be purchased for approximately $29,000
and a Police 4WD Truck can be purchased for approximately $33,000; and
WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete these purchases are available in the 2018-19
Police Department Budget; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to engage in the
necessary contracts to effect the purchase of three Police All Wheel Drive SUV and one Police
4WD Truck.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
