Contractor RegulationOther Counties have expanded Specialty License Requirements to include Tree Pruning / Removal Contractors and have implemented training or testing programs. Counties with these programs can regulate activity by the participating contractors and are regulated by a Municipal Licensing Board. Broward County‐ Tree Trimmers must be either ISA certified or attend county offered training course. Collier County‐ Tree Trimmer must obtain a Specialty Contractors License which requires 12 months experience, a pass the county “business and law test” and pass an approved exam pertaining to tree pruning and safety.Disciplinary ProceduresCitations are issued and violators are entitled to a hearing Board processLicensed may be suspended or revokedMonetary penalties may be imposed – Collection of unpaid penalties is exercised through civil proceedings.
