Betsy Tidwell has resigned from the Cultural Arts & Recreation Advisory Committee. I have
attached the applications I have on file. Alicia Paley was the only applicant that I was able to
reach by phone and she said that she is still available and would be willing to serve. I have sent
e-mail messages to the others and will let you know when I hear from them.
We will put this appointment on the Commission agenda for November 10.

I am interested in serving on the City's Boards or Committees.
,,have been aresident /owner at the Seaplace Condominium on Ocean Blvd for approximately 6 years. I am on the Board of
Directors and had served as President for two years. I originally volunteered for the Board because I felt that not enough work
was being done to improve the Seaplace. I found that one person can make a difference.
ast community volunteer work (many years ago) has included baseball coach, soccer coach, and wrestling coach.
".Ithough not employed at this time, my most resent job was as a Materials Management Consultant to the Mayo Clinic. My
~sponsibilities were to manage the repair and maintenance of all equipment at the Mayo Clinic and St. Luke's Hospital. This
included selection of vendors, review of vendor work and charges, issueing purchase orders for repairs, and resolving any
maintenance or payment problems. If needed, I can fax a copy of my work resume.

First, let me thank you for giving me the opportunity to apply to be a member of the Cultural Arts
and Recreation Advisory Committee. I am interested in filling one of the vacancies on the board
and would enjoy working as a team member with the other members of the Board.
1 believe dint my experience working as a Public Affairs Officer for the Corp of Engineers (in
Sarannah, GA) has given me the background to help plan, promote and support cultural arts
programs turd projects and bring the benefits of art and recreation to the citizens of Atlantic Beach.
I also lectr..red nationally foc aver 20 years which has given me the knowledge and methods to
effective)}' commwticate to the public.
I original)}~ grew up in the Jacksonville area, roamed and lived in Savannah for 30 years and then
moved back to Attantic Beach several years ago. Before moving back [had the unique
opporiunift to work as extras casting assistant far the major movie "Forces of Nature" starring
Ben A®ick and Sandra Bullock. I traveled with the movie and was in charge of organization. of
bill'sng hours for about 20 minor stars in addition to my casting duties.
