A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE RADIOS
DURING THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the radios in its
use to ensure that they are safe and effective to be used for public safety activities during routine
service and in response to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase radios compatible with the radio system
utilized by the Police Department at favorable terms by the sole source vendor; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that nine Portable Radios and four
Mobile Radios should be purchased during the 2018-19 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, a Police Portable Radio can be purchased for approximately $4,000 and a
Mobile Radio can be purchased for approximately $3,000; and
WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete these purchases are available in the 2018-19
Police Department Budget; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve the
necessary purchasing process to effect the acquisition of nine Portable Radios and four Mobile
radios.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
