BACKGROUND: The Public Works. and Utility Departments developed specifications and
requested bids for Landscape Maintenance at locations which include the following facilities:
Public Works; Animal Control; Water Plants 1, 2, 3 and 4; WastewaterPlants 1 and 2; two
fields next to WaterPlant 4 and Wastewater Plant 2, and Lift Station G.
Five contractoTS made the Mandatory Site Visit. Four bids were received on November 14,
2003. Some mathematical errors were found and corrected during the bid analysis performed
by City staff..

The low bidder was A Native Sun Landscaping. Some of A Native Sun's documents were
not submitted in the bid package, however, were submitted them prior to the bid award.
BUDGET: Funds for Landscape Maintenance were budgeted at $46,450 included in the
Water and Sewer Treatment, and Public Works funds under account nos. 400-5502-533-
3400, 4.10-5508-535-340Q„001-5001-541-3400 andA01-5002-541-3400.. The additional
$1;456 will come out ofthe various contractual services accounts.
RECOMMENDATION: Award the annual. contract for Landscape Maintenance to A
Natve Sun Landscaping. in the amount of $47,906.25.
