The structure is a one-story wood frame home with face brick built in 1970. 2. The foundation is a perimeter thickened slab. 3. The floor is concrete. 4. The face brick along the west wall (front of the home) is beginning to show signs of settlement. 5. The front porch slab is beginning to separate from the home. 6. There are interior cracks in the walls due to settlement. (see photos) 7. The slab in the carport has significant settlement cracks and is not level at the brick wall. (see photos) 8. The cause of the settlement is unknown but appears to be a combination of insufficient soil compaction during original construction, and decomposing organics. 9. Soil borings were not taken. 10. It is likely that settlement will continue unless both the carport slab and west wall foundation are stabilized.
