Committee members,
I regret not being able to meet with you tonight as I have come up with
a potential solution that might be agreeable to almost everyone.
I suggest the city pave and curb the entire width of it’s right-of-way
on 18th. Then mark diagonal parking down the center of the right-of-way
forming a traffic loop around the parking. With parking in the middle
of the street, those who do not find a space while traveling East on the
south side can make a legal u-turn to head back to Seminole on the North
side of the parking. Place a “local traffic only” sign on Beach to
discourage using the stretch between 18th and 19th.
If my rudimentary math skills are correct, this will result in the loss
of about 6 slots (those currently on the South side of the street to the
East of Ocean Grove).
