AGENDA ITEM: ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR STORM WATER JETTING &
CLEANING

BACKGROUND: The bid opening for Storm Water Jetting & Cleaning was held on
January 30, 2002 at 3:00 PM. The work involves jetting the storm water drain lines and cleaning
catch basins. Our National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater
Permit requires that we clean our lines and basins as a preventive measure. We had six firms
submit bids and all met the bid specifications. The following is a breakdown of all bids:

** Master Plumbing stated in their bid that the per hour price is port to port, and the trip
charge is a 3 hour minimum.
We intend to clean and jet approximately 5 miles of lines under this contract.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends award of the bid to Florida Pipe Tech as they
.have the lowest average unit price.
