AGENDA ITEM: Construction Engineering & Inspection (CE&I) for the
Core City hnprovements Project

BACKGROUND: On December 16, 2001 we solicited. a Request for Proposals (RFP)
for the CE&I services for the Core City Irprovements Project, and
on January 29, 2002 we received six proposals. The project will be
advertised later this month and commence in Spring 2002, and the
work south of Plaza will connect to the improvements now being
completed on the Sherry Drive Improvements Project. The
duration of the project is projected to be eighteen (18) months:
The six firms submitting proposals were:

Genesis Group
Jones, Edmunds & Associates
Prosser Hallock
Waltz & Moye, Ina.
After staff evaluation, the top three firms were:

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize staff to begin negotiations with the top-ranked firm for
CE&I services.
